Shortage of single-person housing
(Redirected from Shortage of single-person homes)
When single adults outnumber single-person housing units (i.e. [studio, bachelor, one-bedroom] [apartments, condos, houses]).
Effects
- More people are stuck living with family, roommates, or even exes they don't get along with.
- Of course some people like such living arrangements, but some don't. The shortage makes other options unaffordable for most people.
- Affects families too, as the people who can afford to live alone often live in a family-sized home. This can contribute to a more general housing shortage.
