Main principle

cook the food for a bit less time but then keep it on the stove burnerin the oven for a little while after turning off the heat.

Example

if the recipe says...

"boil for 10 minutes, then immediately remove from the heat"

then consider doing instead...

boil for 8 minutes, then turn off the heat but keep it on the stove burner for another 5 minutes
