About 829 million people (1 in 10 people globally) are undernourished (lacking protein and/or calories).

Inefficiencies

Even though farms produce more than enough food crops to feed the world, too many of these crops are used inefficiently...

  • as animal feed   (farm animals eat more food than they produce),
  • as biofuel   (burned for energy - which is not a scalable alternative to fossil fuels),
  • and in food that goes to waste   (or spoils due to improper storage)

As a result, there isn't enough to go around (globally).
