How much new hydropower can be built? Where is it viable? This is a page for some answers.

New hydro opportunities might be split into 2 general categories:

  1. Places where hydropower hasn't been economically viable, even though it's geographically viable. This might be the case in some developing nations.[RESEARCH needed]
  2. Places where hydropower is already built and powering the local grid, but more power would be needed if people switch to electric vehicles.
