  • production (materials, manufacturing)
  • usage (driving, repairs, maintenance)
  • disposal (scrapping, recycling, and/or putting in landfill)
• For each stage, list resources used:
  • Energy
  • Materials (start by quantifying each material separately, if possible)
  • If data is available:
    • Carbon emissions
    • Other pollution
    • Labor
• Lifespan
  • In years
  • In mileage

Insights to be gained

• Environmental impact of driving somewhere: To what extent does it go beyond just the gas in the tank? (...)( Resources to make & dispose of a car, divided by lifespan. Also consider repairs & maintenance if possible, although those may be harder to predict. )
• In what cases is it really worth replacing gas cars with electric cars?
