Wasted electricity is the same as electric heating
A watt is a watt, when it comes to heating. All indoor electricity usage will heat the home the same way.
Note:
- If your local electricity is generated by coal or natural gas, then electric heating is 2-3 times worse (climate change) than a gas-burning furnace. Most power plants are only 33% efficient.
- Wasted electricity is equivalent to a space heater. It won't heat as efficiently as a heat pump.
