Wiki for a better world:Complex causes

From the change wiki

To solve problems in the world, we need solidarity. But currently, it's near-impossible for millions of people to rally together for any cause that's too complex & nuanced. Even though people could understand it, the details get lost like a game of broken telephone. Only the most over-simplified ideas catch on, which causes polarization - society splits into factions that disagree over the dumbest sh*t. Even people who support the same cause have wildly different details in their heads of how it might be implemented. This gets in the way of any meaningful change.

Hopefully this wiki can fix that. This is a platform for solutions & ideas that are too big to fit into cheap slogans. This is a place to build open-source plans that can be shared without getting lost in communication.

Here are some examples of causes that are "too obscure to care about" but actually essential to things people care about:

  • Essential to solving climate change:
    • We should demand that companies make sodium-ion batteries instead of lithium-ion. Otherwise, EVs just won't be scalable enough to replace gasoline cars.
    • We should demand that real estate companies stop requiring that people who sell their homes must remove everything from the house before selling. This requirement causes vast amounts of perfectly good stuff to go to waste. We need to normalize the idea of hand-me-downs from one resident to the next.
