Redirect unwanted food from businesses/Make it non-perishable
The food that businesses typically waste: What could be done to make it non-perishable so it could be shipped to other countries that need it more, to help alleviate hunger?
Foods
Baked goods
Dehydrate and powderize them - convert into some sort of "meal-replacement" bar perhaps? Note that baked goods are mostly empty calories, and so a lot of vitamins & minerals would have to be added. We could design the nutrient profile on a separate page. There might not be a lot of protein, so it can't be considered a "true" meal replacement, but it's better than nothing, and could be part of some larger food aid solution.
Fruits and vegetables
More difficult: Labor-intensive to inspect the produce and cut out all of the bad parts. Energy-intensive to dehydrate the produce (contains far more water than baked goods do).
Naming
Not sure what this sort of "non-perishablized product" should be called. If it's too technical-sounding it won't be appetizing. Idk just make up a name.
